The 2016 Belle Arti Prize Exhibition

receivedOver 270 entries from across Australia have been received for the 2016 Belle Arti Art Prize.

All entrants were given an identical 35 x 35cm canvas, a limited time frame, and total creative carte blanche.

The award is a $5000 acquisitive prize.

Previous winners of the Belle Arti Prize are Jackie Stockdale 2009, Lewis Miller 2010, Marie Hagerty 2011/2012 and Karen Black 2013, Tony Lloyd 2014.

Our team is in the process of hanging what will be an amazing sight on the opening night.

We have been overwhelmed by the amount of creative energy and diversity shown in the entries we have received.

The exhibition will be a floor to ceiling contemporary salon hang, a snap shot of the richness and diversity of arts practice in Australia.

The judges of the 2016 Belle Arti Prize will be:

  • Linda Michael, Deputy Director and Senior Curator Heide Museum of Modern Art. Curator of Wrong Way Time by Fiona Hall, 2015 Venice Bienalle
